GEAIN AND PRODUCE REPORTS. Messrs Dalgety and Co. (Ltd.) report as follows:—We held our usual weekly auction sale of grain and produce at our stores on Monday. Our offerings wore large and representative. Buyers wcro in full force, and competition animated. In consequence a good clearance- was effected at satisfactory prices. Values ruled as under: — Oats.—Tho firm tono ii" this market reported in our last is well maintained, all lines of A and B grade Gartens or sparrowbids being readily taken at prices a shade better than those- ruling lust week. Prime milling quality has more attention from buyers. Quotations: Seed lines, 2s 6d to 2s 9d'; prime milling. 2s Set w 2s 5Jd; good to best feed, 2s 4Jd to .2s 3d; inferior to medium, 2s 2d to 2s 3Sd per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat.—Tho late favourable reports from tho Homo market have teen reflected hero, with the result thafT an increased firmness in the market has been B&own during tho past week, and millers have been operating in all choice lines available of northern ana southern wheat. Competition for most of our offerings, which included some choico lines of Up-to-Datos, was hordiy up io last week's, rates. Quotations: Prime Derwonts, to £4 15s; prime Up-10-Datcs, £i to £i 7s 6d; medium to good, £3 15s ta £1; small and inferior, £3 to £3 12s Gd per. ton (bags in). _ Chaff.—The market is firm at late quotations. A good inquiry exists, both for local consumption and shipnimt, for prims bright heavy, well-oat oaten shou'. chaff. Inferior and medium sorts aro not sought after, and are more difficult to place at quotations. Quotations: Prime oaten sheaf, £3 17s 6d to £4; medium to good. £3 12s 6d to £3 15s; inferior and light, £2 17s Gd to £3 as per ton (sacks extra). Straw.—Arrivals of late are not so heavy, and prices are firm at last week's quotations, which are: For oaten, 35s to 37s Gd; wheaten 30s to 35s per ton, preised.

Tbero was a full attendance of buyers, to whom 1 we submitted a lengthy catalogue of oats, whoai, potatoes, chaff, and straw. For all lines catalogued, with the exception of potatoes, thero was good competition at prices fully equal to late quotations. Values ruled as under.— Oats—'Ho demand both from local buyers and shippers is strong, and' all grades of sound oats aro readily quitted at prices which in most cases show an advance of £d' per bushel on late quotations. Seed! lines havo more attention, and for all sorts the market is firm. Quotations: Seed lines, 2s Cd to 2s 7d; prime milling, 2s 5d (o 23 5Jd; good ta test feed, 2s 4d to 2s sd; medium and inferior, 2s Gd to 2s 31d per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat.—Although priros have not advanced to any groat extent, there is decided improvement in the demand, and all lines of prime milling quality orc> readily taken by local millers at quotations. Chaff.—During the week considerable quantities have come forward, but, with good export demand, all primo lots havo met ready sale at late rates. Quotations: Best oaten sheaf, £5 17s Gd to £4; medium] to good, £3 10s to £3 15s; liglrt and interior, £3 to S3 5s per ton (bags extra). Straw.—Moderate consignments continuo to arrive.
