(!) Every undcrgradttato must occupy the status either _of a student in full attendance, or of an exempted student. (2) There is jio such thing as exemption from a single class or course of lectures, although applications for such exemption arc often sent in.

(3) There is nothing to prevent an ex6nipfad student from attending a class or classes; but any student unable to giro full attendanco in at least two classes, if ho wishes to keop terms and has a valid claim to exemption, must apply for admission to tho status of an oxomnted 6tudent in order to legalise his position! (4) Tho Now Zealand University recognises that "Any student who does not reside within 10 miles of an affiliated college, or who is engaged in acquiring'a profession or trade, or earning a livelihood," is entitled to exemption if ho satisfies the necessary conditions as to giving notice, fees etc. For full particulars 'intending applieante aro referred to tho Now Zealand University Calendar for 1907-8, pp. 44-45; and to tho Otago University Calendar for ISO 3, pp. 82-84.-I am, etc..
