MASONIC.
The installation of Bro. James Sandilands: Douglas as Worshipful Master of *Lodge Maori, No. 106, and the investiture of officers took place on Monday evening in the presence of an overflowing assemblage of members and visiting brethren. ' The installation ceremony was performed by the R.W. Grand Superintendent Bro. C. J. - Ronaldson, and the' ceremony of investiture by the R.W. Bro. W. &. P. O'Calkghan, G.S/W. On conclusion of the latter ceremony an I.P.M; jewel was presented to' tho retiring W.M. (Bro. W. Crawley) by the Grand Supter.intendent on behalf of Lodge Maori, this function being succeeded by tho usual col'ection in aid oi the Widows and Orphans and Aged Masons' Fund, over £10 being collected in the lodgeroom. After the lodge was closed, the brethren retired to the supper room, whore the usual loyal and patriotic toasts' were duly honoured, and a long and varied programme of speeches, songs, and -musical items provided a most enjoyable entertainment. Songs were contributed by Bros. J, Jago, D. White, R. Hawcridge, A, Dempster, 0. Otto, and Roach. Bro. Boyd contributed a trombone solo, and several excel, lent selections were rendered by St. Andrew's orchestra. Bro. R. Haworidge officiated as musical director, and W. Bro. E.
