Act, said proposals to ba submitted to tho Racing Conference, which will hold a epocial meeting to eonsiclor tho euhjoct on January 23, it having been officially suggested to tho bookmakers lhat they ehould submit proposib at an early date and reinforce them by a deputation to the eonferonce. After long discussion it was decided to submit. the following proposals to the cor. fcrenee:—

License Fees.—Clubs giving less than £75fl a day in stakos, £5 per day inside and i2 10,-i outside; clubs giving £750 and less than fltWO, £7 10s aud £1 15s; clubs giving jCIOO-'j and less than £1500, £10 and £5; clubs giving i'l5OQ a day aud l less thiui £5000, £16 and £7 10s; clubs giving £2000 per day and over, £20 and £10.

Annual licenses to be granted by the undermentioned clubs at the following rates, to bo paid half-yearly in advanceAuokknd, £150 inside and X 75 outside; ■Wellington, £115 and £S2 10s; Canterbury, £150 and £75; Dunodin, £100 and £50. lioeh bookmaker to be allowed' one olerk without additional fee. Bookmakers and clorks to be registered by tho metropolitan club of the district in which they reside on payment of a feo of £1 la, the names to be published in the official calendar. In tbo case of a partnership, one niembe. of the firm to bo eligible -to act as clerk. Conditions of registration to bo uniform throughout New Zealand, and arranged by tho conference. Registered bookmakers to be allowed on courses for wliich they do not apply for license on tho same terms as tho public.
