LIMNIiSTONE. December 13. Tho Government irrigation scheme wa-S advanced a stage to-day in the local Warden's Court, when an application by Li.i Majesty the King for a. water race of 15 heads out of tlm Otekaike, River wm granted bv Warden Turlon. Tlie appliestion .sot out that the race was partlr constructed, and that its completion woulil yet. take four months, at a cost of £1000. Mr R. Kirk, of Naseby, who appeared in support of the application, mentioned ihat tho water was to.be use<l for irrigation, domestic, and general agricultural purposes on properties at the Otekaike Ksliifo, recently acquired bv the Crown from Mosm-s R. Campbell and Sons (Ltd.), ami shortly to .be thrown open for selection.
