POLLARD'S JUVENILE •OPEEA COMPANY. Tho delightful dream play, " Bluebell i» Fairyland," so excellently performed by Pollard's Juvenile Opera Company, continue. to attract large Budiences to Princess Theatre nightly. Tho pretty scenic effects, clever dancing, local hits, catchy songs, and' lively music'are greatly appreciated, and the applause is hearty and frequent. The Dutch danco and the wooden stillness maintained so long by f.ha "dolls" is wonderfully cHeciive. The pieco goes rigorously from the rise to the fall of tho curtain, and the audience does not get a. dull moment. A complete change of songs, dances, and incidentals will bo made io-night.

ALIIAICBRA THEATRE. The week's programme was gone through before a large house for the last time last evening. To-night Misa Nellie Maher (a soubrette who has attained no little fame in Australia) will make her first appearance iu New Zculand; and Little Eileen O'Neill (tho child musician, who was quite recently in Duncdin) makes a welcome reappearance. DUNEDIN FOOTBALL CLUB'S ANNUAL . •* ' " • BALL. The Diuiedin Football Club held its annual ball in tho Victoria Hall last evening. Some 50 couples were present, and under the supervision of Messrs J. W. S'hankland and T. TOlielan,' who' acted as M.C.'s, one and all ■appeared to enjoy themselves to the full. The arrangements in connection with the ball ware .perfect, • and the swing with which, everything went reflects groat orcdit on Mr Bond, the onergetio secretary, to whose lot fell a great part of the arrangements. Ho stated that'' 'it gave great pleasure to old players like himself to note tho all-round improvement in the play, especially in tho case of the juniors of the local club. . CHURCH OF CHRIST. A most enjoyable concert was given in the Church of Christ, King street, last evening. The entertainment was' under the auspices of tho, Tabernacle Berean and SeniOi Christian _ Endeavour Societies. Mr V. J. Has tie presidod, and a- capital programme was provided, and consisted of songs by Messrs .'Alex. Wright, D. V. and W. Mackenzie,' Ibbotson, Tait, ;and Ibbotson, Mrs H. Morton, Miss K. Sinclair, A.T.C.L.; vocal duets by Mr A. Wright find Miss -K. Sinclair and Messrs D. V. and W. Mackenzie; a male tjuartet by Messrs Wright, Lemon, , Alexander, and Ibbotson; music-a-l monologue by Mr H. Morton; piano solo by Miss G Simdstrum; violin solo' by Miss B. Thompson, and humorous recitations by Mr W. Young and' Miss Stra'chan. ' . ..

PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY. The third concert of the above society will be held in the Garrison Hall on Friday, 20th September, and 'should prove a most .enjoyable concert, eg the programme is & very popular one. OTAGO LABOUR DAY ASSOCIATION. The above association held a meeting on Wednesday tuning. A. large amount of correspondence was received in connection with the annual calibration, which takes pftice this year at Henley. The traffic superintendent acivised that arrangements had been completed for a special train to'leave Dunedin &t 8.50 a.m.j whiclr would not stop at any station en route, but ticket-holders at Caversham and Burnsido could travel by the ordinary train at 8.55. 1 Pull- particulars will be duly advertised in the .daily papers < The secretary reported that everything was well in hand, and promises of entries for lie various events were to hand. It was decided to engage the services of the Dunedin Pipe Band, and as there is every promise of record entries for the bagpipe competition and stop-dancing, and. judging by-the interest taken last year in these, events, patrons are promised a treat well worth the journey to HenCey. A waltzing- competition for lady and gentleman lias also -been adrlcd this' year. The association is having o- first-class dancing board made and it ,will be used for the first time at Henley. '
