BLIND MEN AND LIQUOR

Til© fcroublo occasioncd through tho supplying of intoxicating liquor to a fow inmates of tho Jubileo Institute for the Blind was 'brought beforo the Parnell Licensing Committee to-day by a lottor from the secretary o[ tho institute. The writer stated that a lxittlo of whisky was brought on to tho premises by ono inmate, and later on in tho same • evening another bottlo was obtained, and there were several eases of intoxication. No cbargo was mado against any particular lioonsee, but it was thoiieht' fclvo oomimttee might assist in the Matter of preventing blind men tram being supplied. The Chairman (Mr Dwyer, S.M.) said <that, of course, tho committop-could take no action, but expressed the liopo that licensees would as far as possible) trv to prevent liquor from being sold to inmates of an instituto for tho blind. ' •
