BENEVOLENT INSTITUTION TRUSTEES.
Tho regular weekly meeting of tho | Benevolent Institution Trustees, held yesterday afternoon, was attended by Messrs W. Burnett (in the chair). A. Tapper, .1. M. Callaway, J. Arkle, D. Larnach, 11. A. LeCren, and Captain liwther. Messrs Gallaway and Tappei took exception to the minutes of, the 'special meeting held on Monday, urging they were not a complete record of tho proceeding.—A motion to- amend them was lost, and it was decided : nftor some discussion that it be recorded in tho minutes of tho meeting then being hold that Dr Closs's suggestions ; regarding certain alterations 'had been : agreed \mon owing, to tho 'trustees' decision i that they" could not carry out tho whole of 1 Dr Yaljnt-inc's recommendations. I It was reported that the outdoor relief ! cases for August numbered 412, i representi ing 144- men, 206 women, and 4E9 children, tho cost per week being £104 ISs 6d. In August'of last year there wero 328 case.3. comprising 150 men, 218 women, and 521 children, -tho cost involved being £103 lis 3d per week Forty-one relief cases wero dealt with.
