Ii was-decided to hold a meeting ot the school teachers, school cpiumitte«a, and members of the Otago Centre at the Weratah Ten Booms on 13tli inst.; to make preliminary arrangements for the holding of this year's Schools Championships of Otego.

NEW ZEALAND ATHLETIC UNION (OTA'GO CENTRE).

A meeting, of the executive of the above was held on Monday evening last, there being present' Messrs Harper, (chair), E. Hobbs, J. Legerwood, D; F. M'Kay, P. Brady, J. -Matheson, and D. 'J. Corcoran (secretary). An 1 apology was received from .the president ■ for his non-attendance. P. C. Mlean (Herbert), wrote. applying 1o have the disqualification imposed;upon him for competing at an unregistered meeting at D.unback removed, as ho' was not aware that ;he was doing niong. A letter from tho Mount Ida Caledonian Society asking for a permit, for New Year's Day, and pointing out. the desirability of setting aside a day other-than January '1 for the Middlemarch sports, owing to the proximity.of the two places, was held over till next meeting. A circular' letter from the president of the. New Zealand Athletic Union ; was read dealing with. the. proposed conference of,athletic governing bodies, to be 'held in iWillington during this month, and askhifpif there was any matter which the centre would like to'have considered. Waikouaiti Caledonian Society was granted a permit for Boxing Day.
