From a good • start T. R. Gordon got away, closely fo'.lowed by M. Dawson and S. Rusbatch. This order was maintained throughout, . Gordon winning somewhat easily by about 20 yards from Dawson, Rusbatch being some way behind. The winner ran the'.first mile in sniin 28sec, and his time for the whole dis•tance was 17min 13£ sec.
