In July it was announced that Sir John Forrest, who was then Federal Treasurer, had a scheme on hand for a issue of notes. The department had drafted 'bills dealing with banking and the is'ite of Federal bank notes. These had not come before the Cabinet, and it was stntcd that they were not likely to he presented to Parliament this session. The details of tho proposals nvo not revealed.
