BRASS BANDS CONTENT.

(Per United Pp.ebs Association-.) NEW PLYMOUTH, August 30. A well-attended public meeting was held in connection wish the North Island Bra6S Bands' Association contest, to bo held at New Plymouth in February or March next. Hie Mayor presided, lit james Clarke was elected secretary, and an executive was appointed. The committee reported that the result of a canvass for guarantees w36 highly satisfactory. At the executive meeting, held subseauontly, it was decided to communicate with the association as to the probability of Australian bands competing. The meeting was very enthusiastic, and, rememtering the success of the previous contest, the promoters are sanguine as to the result. .
