The Tohuio correspondent of tlio Wainrapa Age telephones (liat a. man named Potor Iliuining, -aged 57. and employed at Matnikona, was found (load in his whaie to-day. An inquest will bo held tomorrow. THAMES, August 30. Frederick Noave. a resident of Kercpehi, fell into the Peaks River this morning. Efforts were' matte to rescue liim. but ho was swept away by the swift current and drowned. HAMILTON. August 30. The body of the man M'Sweenoy, who lias been • missing from Taupiri' 6inco August 9, was found in a. creek. The deceased left Taupiri with a man named Hogan to drive to a plaeo a few miles off. Late that night Hogan returned alone, and' told the hotclkecper that they had been capsized. Search was made, but no trace of M'Swecncy could be found. Both had boon drinking' heavily. At the inquest Hogan could give no satisfactory account of the accident or of wlter'e M'Swecney was lost, and the coroner has ordered a. post mortem. GISBORNE. Aueiist 30. At Tolago Bay Nathaniel Fitzgerald, ,a>n of a sheep farmer, died from injuries received by his horse falling and rolling on him. CIIRISTCIIURCH. August 30. An old man named William. Henry Tiiorne. 63 years of age, was found drowned in the Hoalhcotc River this afternoon. He had been missing since yesterday. INVERCARGIIX. August 30. William Stewart, 19 years, of George road, died 'suddenly to-day. The cause of death is unknown at. present, though deceased had ,had influenza and had been ailing since Wednesday.
