Jones (» visitor Irom Melbourne). One. candidate was elccted and initiated. Bro. Sherwood was elected vioo Bro. Hoppeltlrwaito. After the usual routino business had been transacted a hat-trimming competition foi brothers v,-;c; proceeded rath, and afforded much r.nrusement to thoao present. The' adjourned annual meeting of the Kaikorai Baptist Church was held on Wednesday evening, Tho report showed that considerable progress hacl been made sinc'o the advent of the new pastor (the Rev. N. A, Davis), seven months ago. Fifteen new members have been added during the year, and services are being well anended. On Sunday evenings the seating accommodation is severely taxed when the pastor occupies the pulpit. Under the superintendency oi Mr P. W. Peters, the Sunday school has more than doubled its rail, and is in a flourishing condition, Mr Simpson has suceccded in organising and maintaining an excellent choir, and an orchestra has been formed and is doing good work. Interest in and attendance at the prayer meeting is rising, and there have been a number of conversions reported for both church and school. A full complement o[ rew officers was elected, and a/building fund inaugurated with a view to, the erection, as soon as possible, of a more suitable church cdifice.
