rUKK FOOD BILL,
Tho Pure Food Hill, as amended by tho Kclcct Committee, was considered* in Committcc of the Whole Council, and the following amendments, as (suggested by the Select Committee, were agreed' to:-The title was altered to tho Sale of Food and Drugs Hill. Dfrug was altered to mean any animal, veget&b.o, or mineral substancc used in the composition of or as a medicine for the n.ro of man. In the clause relating to iho wilful selling of a. food or drug contrary to the provisions of the act, it was made a dofcncc •if the vendor proved that lie took al 'reasonable stops to ascertain that the sale of tho article would not constitute an offcnce against tho act, or any regulation xhaoo tinder it.
