The-Loyal Cavershani Lbdge, M.U.1.0.0.F., held its usual fortnightly meeting on Wednesday evening in tho Kew Lodge-room, N.G. Bro. WV-JB. Cole presiding. The correspondcucG being dealt with, it was moved and • seconded thai the Caversbam Lodge support tbe Otago district in its suggested amendiuents to the new Friendly Societies' Bill. After a lengthy discussion, it was decided to let the matter stand over till next ledgo night, when a larger number of,members would bo present. The N.G, then adjourned the lodge for harmony, the following brotWs contrihuting items:—P.G. Bro. li. Hill,. N.G. Bro. W. Cole, P.G. Bro. P. .Grey, Guardian Bro. Carnegie, Bro. J. Emms, and E.S. Bro. D. M. W.ild?y. P.G. '"Bro. , Hoihl played f.ho accompaniments. On the lodge again being recpened, the N.G. reported having received an invitation from the Hand and Horn Lodge for a card- tournament, to ba held in its room on Soptonrber 3, ond asked the Cavorsham brothers -to attend in force; One new candidate was' proposed. Bro. Smith (Loyal Albion Lodge) responded to tho toast of the visitor®. ; The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Albion Lodge wag held in tho Oddfellows' Hall, Rattray street. Duncdin,. N.G. Bro. H. G. Rodman presiding. After a groat 'deal o! routine business, the N.G. proceeded with tie election of delegates' to tho half-yearly district meeting, .' to ba held at Lawrence.

Th'e following brothers were, elected:— N.G., Bro. Redman; G.M., Bro. Sh&nkland; Per. So:retary, Bro. P. Stabb; P.G., Bro. Ccn^hlan; P. 0., Bra. C. W. Smith. Five friends were initiated into the order, and another two proposed for next lodge night. P.O. Bro. Walker. (Lcyiil Palmerston Lodge) responded to tho second toast. G-.M. Bro, Sh&nkland reported visiting ■ the Prince Alfred Lodge, and P.G. Ero, Watson reported attending the Loyal Valley social.
