In connection with the Dominion Rifle Association matches, Colonel l{ughcs (president) gave a luncheon to the officers. Eari Grey (the Governor-General) referred to the importance from an Imperial standpoint of the attendance of British, Australian, and Newfoundland teams, whom Sir P. Borden (Minister of Militia) also ■welcomed. Sir F. Borden added that ho hoped that every eohpolboy in Canada over 13 years old would soon liavo a rifle and equipment and receive training in marksmanship.

Four Australians von places in the Dominion Match prize-list. Molton (Queensland), with 67 out of a possible 70, secured second prize.
