The Grand National meeting .was concluded to-day in fine weather, the track being considerably faster than it had been on the previous day. In the run home Slaw Tom Bwerved about, and interfered with Nudador, and finally had to pull out again to clear portion of a. fence whic'fi hod' been left standing near the winning post, Ho finished about a length in front of Nadador, whilst Ki&tere wore down Phaelontis at' the finish and beat him for third p!ace. After the race Slow Tom walked lame infront, and this net doubt made him swerve, about in the run home, A protest wai' lodged for crossing, and the stewards awarde,? the race to Nadador. Slow Tom stumbled when turning out of the straight for thosecond lime in the race, and by doing- bo losi several lengths. . But for tliis mishap ho would have won much easier than ho did, ► ami 'consequently his ownor was unfortunate in losing tho fruits of tho horse's victory.
