A FIREMAN DROWNED.
(Per United Press Association.) CHE ISTCHURCII, .Time 27. The body o[ a fireman named Duncan M'Crac was found floating in Ijyttelton Harbour. M'Crac, who worked on the Harbour Board's tug, was supposed to lm on duty keeping sleam up, and ho left home shortly before 8 o'clcck to go to the vessel. So far as can ho ascertained, he was not. seen afterwards, and it. is surmised tJiat he fell into the water when goin? aboard, and to washed under the wharf. M'Crae was a married man, and had lived at tho port for 20 years, and had boon in tho colony for nearly 48 years. It is a coincidence that M'Crac wag filling t.hc position on the tup: of a fireman who was drowned' under similar circumstances about 12 months ago.
