ARBITRATION COURT
QUESTION OF PROFIT-SHARING. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Juno 27. At the sitting of the Arbitration Court to-day Mr Justice Sim had occasion to remark that the court did not fix wages on a profit-making basis. Under such a scheme men would have to go without wages if there wei'e no profits. The court should endeavour to give men fair remuneration for their work regardless of whether the employers got a profit' or not. Profits could only be taken into consideration in extreme eases where an increase ill wages would wipe out a business. Tho employers' representative on tho bench remarked that frequently if tho court gave what the men asked ior the men would in conscipicnee bo walking tho streets.
