■ AUCKLAND, April 18.I he statistics of Iho port of Auckland for 1906 generally wo pleasant reading, compared with tho returns of "1905. In tho Customs revenue the import, and export, trado returns are. phenomenal There arc srtatifyi'iß increases nmomilihg to 3435,000 in imports, to over £525,000 in exports, and to £26,500 in contribution- to tho Custom? revenues. The. total imports and exports oxcfedod £6,750,000, of which nearly a million poniids represents an' iriorease on last year. Of the increased imports considerably more than three-fourths was from within the Empire. Tho increased export values are distributed among all our products, excepting gum and timber. Tho butter exhort, .increased bv £107,000, arid Sold bj\ £260,000. One regrettable feature of t.ho returns is the emigration table.' Tho increased immigration was onl.v 2044 in 1906, as compared with tho previous year, vdiilo the emigration increased by 741.
