FAREWELL TO REV. W. A SINCLAIR.
No greater tribute could have been paid to the Rev. AY. A. Sinclair and the good work which lie for so many years has done iii and arotmd Dunedin than the prcscnec of such a large assembly in the Garrison Hall on tho 17th to bid farewell to him on t.he eve of his departure for St. Albans, Ohristchurch. Tho whole of tho body of tho large hall and the overhanging gallery were packed with friends who had come to demonstrate the great esteem and high respeei which they held for Mr Sinclair. Tho Bev. 0, 1-7. Laws presided, and read a number o! apologies from citizens who were unable' to attend.
The Rev. Mr Laws, Mr A. S. Adams, and the Hon. .1. T. Paul spoke in glowing terms of the good work done by 'Mr Sinclair, and expressed regret at his departure and the cause thereof —illness. Other speakers to do honour to Mr Sinclair were Mr J. F. Arnold, M.H.R. (who. spoke on behalf of the working men of tho city), Rev. (J. Heigh way (president of the Council of Churches), .Mr D> Cameron (on behalf of the Central Mission), Mr R. 'l'erguson, and Mt Duncan (on behalf of the Christian Endeavour Society). I Jlr Ferguson, on behalf of tho mission and their priends, presented Mr and Mrs Sinclair with a purse of sovereigns; and Mr Duncan, on kolialf of the Endeavour Society, presented Mr Sinclair with a, dressing case. A tiny child, Ina. Mackenzie, on fi, J.h«. Sunday School, -also made a
presentation cf books to Mr and Mrs Sinclair and their boy (Norman Sinclair), a member of the Sunday School.
