DUNE-DIN GYMNASTIC CLUB. The following report will be presented to mombjrs'of the Duncdin Gymnastic Club at the annual meeting: — "Your committee, in presenting its annual report for the year 1900-7, has again to con-i;rnt-ulato the members on the completion of ! another satisfactory season. The interest in gymnastics throughout Dunedin and suburbs was of rather a subdued nature, but your r-ommitteo trusts that during the coming ■eason a repetition of the boom of four or ive years ago may bo experienced. Tho work >f the club was in the capable hands- of the captain, Mr W. 11, .Matthews, and was carried out by him- in a manner beneficial to all who placoil themselves under his tuition. The membership was not quite so large as in previous seasons, and your committee takes this opportunity of urging members to induce as many others as possible to partake of tho advantages of the club. Good work was shown in the various classes throughout tho season, more particularly amongst those who attended regularly. Too much cannot- be said in favour of regular attendance, whereby gradual and steady progress is shown and good form and condition maintained. Advanced work still continues to hold its place in the club's routine, and last year has shown a great improvement in several of the members in this respect. The balance sheet, submitted by tho treasurer, shows the club's finances to be in a very healthy condition. In face of the apparently decreasing interest in gymnastics a policy of rigid economy lias b:on carried out in the club's expenditure, by which a satisfactory balance has been arrived at. The thanks of the club are duo to tho treasurer, Mt P. 11. Power, whoso efforts in this direction have brought about such a much-desired result. Everything is well in hand for the forthcoming season,°and your committee wishes to impress upon irerobers the necessity of keeping the club alive amongst their friends and acquaintances and at all times pushing the interests of tho club in all directions. During tho past season the gymnasium was placed "at the disposal of the Pirates Football Club for training purposes, and was duly appreciated by them. Other athletic bodies have also availed theuiaolvcs of the advantages of the ceiitrallysituatcd rooms. In Mr S. M'Master the club has an extent fsyetary, k?ep ; Md

competent, and your committee desires to placo oh record its appreciation of liis efforts (taring the past season. In retiring from office, your committee hand over tho affairs cif the elub in- to, licaJtliy condition, and predict that with good management and duo attention to strict economy in finance many useful and successful seascais arc yet, before tho club.
