DUNEDIN TELEGRAPH CLUB.-. The second annual meeting of the Dunedin Telegraph Football Olub was held last evening, and was attended by a large number of members. The following report was presented by the committee:— Your commiltcso, in ' submitting the sccond annual rM)ort and balance' sheet, heartily congratulate members upon tho success of its operations in the football field. Tho club entered for the Wednesday conipetiticin, and, though not so successful as might have been eicpeclod, it cra-.e through the season with crodit. It all, three rounds wero played for the competition, Telegraph winning 1, losing 6, drawing 2, cup points 4. The club also entered hvo teams for tho fivo-aside tournament, but was not successful, During the year tho club was represented by Messrs G. lllingworth (manager), D. W. Itoss, D. O'Connor, and A. Smith in the two representative matches, against the Timaru Club, and acquitted themselves creditably. Mr Illingworth also acted as manager of a senior representative team which toured to Invcrcargill. Outside of tho club's operations several members have been making names for themselves, principally Messrs lioss and Brown, in tho running Sold. Your committee again wishes to impress upon members tho necessity of proper training and practice, for without practice tho club will never take a prominent place in the football field. It 13 again a matter of regret that crieket should havo been allowed to drop, especially as there is plenty of good material in the offioe, and it is to be hoped that, during tho coming season members will show a little enthusiasm and do what they can to help, not only football, but cricket also. Tho thanks of the club are due to tfco esocutive heads of tho oKco for tie practical interest thoy took in tho football events. Tho familiar figure of our worthy president (Mr C. Hill) was very much missed during the latter part of the season, he having had a severe illness, but from latest reports he is progressing very favourably, and we hopo that it. will not be long before he is again with us. The finances are in a nourishing condition. The following officers wore elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr C. Hill (reelected); vice-presidents—Messrs F. Hawloy (re-clected), t4. lllingworth, R. C. O'Connor, and F. Williams; captain, D. W. Ross; deputy-captain, D. J.
