The Moorish officials are indifferent to Dr Mauchamp's fate, and some of the soldiers are very truculent. Tlip Pasha and Shereof of Marakeeh arc inciting the populace against the French colony which' has taken refuge in the Jewish quarter. PARIS, March 26. France has decided to occupy Ujda until Dr Mauchamp's murderers are punished, his family compensated, and a sum contributed to the support of French philanthropic work in Morocco. LONDON, March 26. The .Times comments on Germany's willingness'to support France, but is not clear what the diplomatic corps at Tan.gier have to do with a matter concerning France and Morocco. PARIS, March 27. (Received March 27, at 9.33 p.m.) Speaking in tho Chamber of Deputies, M. Pichon (Minister of Foreign Affaire) istatwl that tho action of France in Morocco was strictly limited. He strongly deprecated mutual hostility and excessive .competition among Europeans in Morocco, anil hoped that there would bo now a wholesome trace. ' M. Ribot expressed his agreement with M. Pichon's statement, and tho'Chamber of' Deputies unanimously voted confidence ■in the Government. There- are indications that Ujda has been 'occupied without resistance. (Received March 27, at 10.40 p.m.) M. Pichon made a resolute speech in the Chamber of Deputies. Ho .enumerated tho French grievances in Morocco, and said two French Customs officiils hud been murdered on tho frontier in February, 1906, and only one of the criminal's was surrendered. M. Charbonnier's murderers were : known, yet the authorities refused to arrest them and-replied impolitely to France's claims. Tho situation lrail become intolerable afta , Dr Maudiamp-'s murder, ■ and France was determined to compel the Sliltan to observe order and legality as far as France was concerned. Their demands included tlje dismissal and 'imprisonment ■ of tho Governor of Marakesh.
