GISBORNE, Jlareh 25. The Harbour Hoard has decidcd to acccpt the offer of tho Minister of Marine to provide a light for Mahia Point, provided the board maintained it. The chairman said the Government, would supply a lower and a third-power light capable of being scon for 12 miles. A good ileal /of correspondence has ensued between the board and the Government since tho structure and the lump were destroyed by lire some yours a g oi The. board contended it should be maintained as a colonial light. Tho compromise affords satisfaction lo masters of coastal,vessels.
