(Received March 25, at 10.7 p.m.) A fanatical mob stoned the British Viceconsulate at Marakesh. The l.'onsul, in defending liis residence, where the Europeans hail taicen refuge, shot one of the mob. A Frenchman licenses the Germans of exciting the Moors agiust the French. Enraged at- M. Mauchamp's experiments with wireless telegraphy, the mob forced ail entrance lo his liouse'nnd stoned him to death. They also stabbed the body repeatedly. The houses of several .Europeans have been sacked. Afler a period or extreme tension among tho powers, an internalioual conference met lust year to discuss iho atl'airs of Morocco, and a.n agreement was arrived at with tho object of settling the future, of the country, arrangements were made for tho protection of life and property, but, very little ecems to have been accomplished fio far in this diieetion. Alter the conference waiters were for a time quieter, but Iho improvement was not or long duration, and tribal disputes and attacks on foreigners have been frequent for some months past. The intervention of a. strong hand has become an absolute Jiccessity.
