ContraVy to the usual custom the attendance kept tip right throughout the season, and it is hoped that next season members will follow the same good example. Notwithstanding the greatly increased expenditure tho financial position is very gratifying. During the season 10 races were held and 22 prizes were given, which is a big inerea.se on previous years. On June 3 the club received a visit from. the Balelutha Harriers. The club instituted a special prize, to bo given to the member gaining tlio largest number of points in open events during the summer season. The members of the committee donated tho prize, which was won by A. Foster with 181 points, who put up some very fine performances for a- first- season's runner. Seeing that the olub is making Gitcli rapid strides, it, is the recommendation of the outgoing committee that the club hold an afternoon sports' meeting 011 a large sealo next year. The members have taken a considerable interest in open racing, and several members have been successful. Three members were successful in being selected to lepreseai-t Otago in the s steeplechase teams race, and rail very well, the team winning easily. A. Tho Chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and balance sbeat, said that this duty had fallen to him ou several occasions, but it had never given liini greater pleasure than it did at this meeting. As a club they had got beyond the initial stages. He noticed that tho report stated thero had been 20 runs, and that the average attendance was as good at tho end as at (jie beginning of the season. The report also spoke highly of tho return visit of the Balclulha Harriers. Ho hoped that the incoming committee would follow in the wake of its predecessors in this mailer of inviting country clubs lo the city. It had been recommended to the incoming committee that an afternoon sports' meeting should bo held this year, and he felt sure that if they took this meeting in hand they would make a success of it, but nevertheless lie would counsel Uicra in • regard to the financial aspect of the matter. "With respect t.o tho relay races held at Wingatui, he considered that the clnb held a very creditable position. Being a "Wednesday afternoon team they were more or less oil llicir own, and had not the advantages of Saturday teams. What had always struck him about tlia 'members was t'leir loyalty to tho club and to themselves. Ho hoped that this spirit would remain in the club. Mr A.
