MUNICIPAL TEPID BATHS.
A meeting o[ (ho General Baths Committee was held in Mesars Park, Reynolds, and Co. s rooms last evening, when I hero were present—Messrs G. L. Dcnnislon (in the chair), Dr Colquhoun, tlio Hon. J. B. Callan. M.L.C., the Hon. J. T. Paul, M.L.G'.,. Messrs J. A. Park, W. Davidson, H. Drcon, F. 11. Campbell, and the hon. secretary. Apologies were received from Messrs A. R, Barclay, M.11.R., and R. G. Whettcr. Mv Dcnnislon congratulated the executive on the succcssful public meeting held recently. As the outcomc of that meeting they had now to follow up the resolution ♦here passed to appoint a deputation to interview (ho council, ' It. was resolved that the General Committee be the deputation, and attend at ■the Council Chamber at 7.30 o'clock oil Wednesday night, • acording lo arrangements _ made by tho chairman with his Worship tho Mayor. Arrangements regarding speakors were left in tho hands of Mr Dcnnisfon, who was requested to o]K>n tlie ease for tho Baths Committee. Mr Park mentioned that from' correspondence he had received from lady supporters of the movement he thought that several of them would join the deputation. It was decided to invite the lady supporters to attend, and by their presence (idd weight to the deputation. A number of well-lilled petitions were handed in. It was decided that tho chairman should inform the council that the Otago Centre N.Z.A.S. Association would pollcct tho balance of Ihe 250 petitions Ktill out anil present them to the council as soon ne possible after Iho holidays. 11 was mentioned that the 14 petitions in hand totalled 643 signatures. Tho Hon. Treasurer submitted a statement of accounts amounting to £14, and uftcr consideration it was referred to the Otago Centre N.Z.A.S.A. Dr • Colciuhoun \ donated 10s 6d, and several other subscriptions towards tho Publio Bath Fund were promised in the 10(1111. (In the motion of Dr Colquhoun, Drs Hcckcn a.nd ltobcrts were elected members of the General Cominiltei. It was decided that all petitions should bo called in ut once.
