MAGISTRATE'S COURT, INVERCARGILL.
"DELIBERATE AND CORRUPT PERJURY." (Per United Peess Associahbh.) INVERCARGILL, March 22. In tho oaso of James Fabey, who was charged at the Magistrate's Court to-day m an affiliation case, Mr Mt'arthy, S.M., ft' i ,?■ senso °f his responsibility, that the defendant had gono into tho box and committed wilfnl, deliberate, and corrupt perjury. He made an order that the defendant was tho father of the child, and required him to pay 7s a week till it attained tho ago of M years. The costs and expenses which the defendant had to pay amounted to £7 7s 9d, and ho was .made to enter into his own recognisances of £65 and two sureties of £32 10s each to comply with tho order.
