VOLUNTEERS.
PORT CHALMERS XAVALS. After inspection parade on Monday evening tho Port Chalmers Navals held their annual meeting, Captain Dodds presiding. In moving tta adoption of tho report and balanco sheet, tho chairman gave a brief review of t-lio work done during the yea-ij, and promised members that if the finances would permit he intended having a largo room built nt the back of tho hall for lectures, social evenings, etc. Tho following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year:—Finance Committee—The officers and Sergeants Moir and Middleditch; General Committee —the Finance Committee, Sergeant Montgomery, Gunners Dodd, James Montgomery, .1. Matthewsoii, /}.• Love, E. Perry, and Porter; hon. secretary, Scrgeantr major Montgomery; storekeeper, Sergeant Moir; auditors—Corporal ChisUolm and Gunner Brailey. Aftor discussion on matters appertaining to tho Easter camp gunnery competition, a hearty voto of thanks to tho chair brought tlio meeting to a close. Previous to the meeting Colonel Allen presented Quarter-master Facer with a 12 years' service medal.
