When the Australian grapes were at the Exhibition last week many people were disappointed becnuse the whole consignment was sold before they could obtain a sample. Mr Scott, the South Australian Commissioner, accordingly applied to the Government for permission to import a fresh supply, and Jias received a telegram from the Acting Prime Minister .stating that the importation of further consignments of live tons for sale at the IMiibition has been sanctioned. Mr Scott cabled to-night for a second consignment to be sent, and it is expected to arrive in three weeks' time. Mr George llissef. editor of publications for tho Agricultural Department, commenced Hie judging of the district courts to-day. The judging is expected to take four or live days. Tho courts have been burnished up for the ordmil, and hav,o never looked so well the first weeks of the Exhibition. , 1 , In connection with the agricultural and yastoral competitions, Mr Walter Hill, of Ohristchurch. commenced the judging of tho wool exhibits this morning. Mr Waehsmann, of this city, is judging Ihn grain 'and produce'.' At: the final fireworks display on Easter Monday it is proposed to show a magnificent triumphal arch composed of lireworks, on which the total attendance at the Exhibition till that date will be displayed.

The Australian dogs which will take part in tho Christehureh Dog Trial Club'ssheenvarding competitions on ihn sports ground on Monday wore seen performing in the club's preliminary competitions on tho Cashmere Hills today. Two of them were at a disadvantage in being evidently unused to hill work, but. the other two acquitted themselves well. Tho prospect of seeing them pitted against New Zealand dogs on Monday is being looked forward to with much interest. The oratorio "Elijah" will he eiven in .the Exhibition Concort Hall on March 26 and 27 with a full chorus and orchestra, Mr Henry Wells, organist, of G'hristchureli, being tho conductor. FURTHER.
