AMUSEMENTS.

THS WILLIAMSON SEASON. His Majesty's Theatre was again well filled last evening on the occasion o£ the last presentation of the opera " The Belle of New York." Throughout tho production was accorded a flattering reception, the audience being demonstratively appreciative of "the good music in which the pi«se abounds, and which, needless to add, met with dainty and artistic treatment -at the hands of ilie players.

This ovoning the final change of programmo will bo presented, when the company will revive " A Country Girl " lor tho two farewell nights of the s&ason. There is no doubt that iu reviving this bright and popular vocal comedy good judgment has been shown. It is crisp and piquant, and affords opportunities for all tho members of the company. 'J'he piece is rather remarkable for the fact that hardly any part stands out as, a, leading feature of the play.; tho musical munbars and dialogue being pretty evenly distributed amongst the various artists who appear in the leading roles. An item that always meets with a most enthusiastic reception is " The Hiawatha oitette." On Friday evening, in order that all the principals may appear, a sliort concert will be given, when Hiss Clara Clifton will sing "In my time," and Miss Alma Barber "S'.oo eyes" from "The Orchid and " The Cingaleo" respectively.

"THE MIDXIGHT WEDDING Theatregoers will read with interest the announcement that tlie Easter attraction at His Majesty's is to be the successful romantic military drama " The Midnight Wedding," the return of Messrs Meynell and Gunn's famous "Fatal Wedding" company, which enjoyed such a phenomenally successful season hero in July of last year. ( In "Tho Midnight Wedding'' the famous actor, 'Mr Harcourt Bcatty will make his reappearance since his return from Amcrica as lead with Hiss Nellio Stewart and Musgrovc's " Sweet Nell" Company, I ALIIAMBBA THEATRE. There was a very large attendance at the Alhambra- Theatre last evening, when tho company acquitted itself right manfully and womanfully, to coin -a word that seems to be needed, to an artist. Mr Fred Graham and Miss Nellie Dent repeated their admirable sketch, Mr Slado Murray proved as great a favourite as ever, the Driscoll Brothers were wholly amusing, ami the remaining members of a thoroughly live company gave every satisfaction. The same programme will be presented this evening.
