(Pzr United Pbess Association.) CIIIIISTCHURCH, March 20. The Hon. \V. Hall-Jones, Acting Prima Minister, arrived in Cliristchurch to-day. He leaves for Cheviot to-morrow morning, and will formally open for traffic the extension of tho railway to Domett. On Friday forenoon he will aitend the Cheviot Agricultural Society's show, returning to Christchurch tho same evening, when ho wilt present the prizes won at tho fire brigades competitions now taking place. 011 Saturday forenoon Mr Hall-Jones will procoed to Darficld, and will go front there to Norwood over the proposed branch line from Darficld, via Greendalc. The distanco is aix>ut 16 miles. A flying survey of the proposed lino was made last year.
