POLO TOURNAMENT.

NAPIER, March 20. ino New Zealand polo tournament was continued at Hastings i his afternoon, the following games being played:— Hawkc's Bay A v. Wellington A.—This was a very fast game, although at the same tune it proved a decided victory for lunvlro's Kay. Grace and Levin,, for Weluigton, jitayed exceedingly well,' hut the team as a whole wns out-classed by their opponents. In the first spell Nelson scored 1 n 111 !* ! or Bfly. In the second spell Kelson again showed splendid form, and scored another goal, his play being undoubtedly the feature of the game. Ormond scored two goals and Russell one goal for Hawkc's Bay in this spell. In the third spe 1 Ormond again scored, and in the fifth spell Russell, with a tine low drive, put- on Mother goal, ranking tho score—Hawkc's Bay 7 goals, Wellington nil. AYellington then livened up and played with better combination, Grace scoring the first, goal for his side. In tho sixth spell Levin, with a very fine rush, took the ball away from his opponents and right up the field, but failed to score, tho ball going just- outside the goal post. Shortly afterwards Clark scored another goal for Wellington. Mangaheia v. Wellington B.—This was rather a slow game at the beginning, but as time wore on it became very fast and furious. The scoring was fairly oven, and resulted in a win for Mangaheia by 8 goals to 6. In the first spell R, Murphy and 11. Reynolds each scored one goal for Mangahcia. The second spell saw very little chango in the play, and no goals wero scored. The play was better in the third spell, more life being put into it. W Strang scored two goals for Wellington, and Hob. Reynolds and Ralph Reynolds each scored one for Mangaheia. iii tho fourth spell Wellington showed more dash, and W.- Strang scored for them. Shortly afterwards Strang, with a. good run up tho field, passed the ball to Williams, who scored for Wellington. Williams again scored," Mangaheia replying with ono goal scored by G. Reynolds. Tho fifth spell was very fast, and Mangaheia scored threo more goals, Wellington replying with ono by Williams. In Ihe sixth spell there was a lot of hitting and running, but no further scoring.
