THE SOCIETY OF MUSICIANS OF OTAGO.
Tlio annual meeting of this society was held at the Oddfellows' Hull, Stuart street, 011 Saturday evening last, and, in spile of the bad weather, was very well attended, The president: (Siqnor S/iuariEc) occupied tho chair. The Hon. Secretary read tlio council's icport, and tho Treasurer presented the duly audited balance sheet. Thcso wore considered most satisfactory, and worn unanimously adopted. The retiring officers were replaced in their respective positions by (.lie unanimous consent of the members— viz. President, Signor It. .S-'uunnse; vice-prosiednt. Mr \V. K Taylor, F.R.C'.O.; lion, treasurer. Mr •taso Timson: lion, secretary, Mr MaiUaiitjL (Jard'ner. The other members of tho council [or the vear are—Mr RL. Ashhy, Miss Aitken, Miss ]!. liiirth, Mr .1. G. ]•>.?- ton, Miss K. Hartley. Mr. .T, D. M'DonaM, Mr M. Hriwek, Mr A. \ 7 al!is, Mrs Wilkie, and Misi Ycrston. Reference was made to tho f-ooie.ty's loss by the removal of Mrs Jilandford, L.lt. A.M., and a. motion was carried by acclamation wishing her success in her new inhere at College. A short musical programme was given by Mr .T. C. Easton, Miss Elsie .T. Ford, A.T.C.L., Mrs Larin?, and Mr j[. Kchorel.\ The society now numbers 75 members.
