A Double Charge.—"William Kennedy was charged with being drunk in King Edward street. South Duncdin, on the 18th inst., and, further, that lie made use of obsccno language iu the hearing of passers-by on the same occasion.—Mr flay appeared for tho accused, who pleaded "Guilty" to both charges, electing to I>l» dealt with summarily on the latter.— Sergeant King explained that the accused had l>con found drunk in ono of the principal •streets "in South Duncdin, and had used flisjusting language from tho timo of his arrest till he wan placed in tho lock-up. A Chnrgo Dismissed.—William Alleu was charged that, on March 2, he placed five cow?, for the purpceo of grazing, in Dnlgotv street, SI. Kilda. Ho was also charged with the samo oftonce on /February 28.—Mr J. B. Cnllan, jun,, appeared for the informant, and Mr Jiaulon for the defendant.—Frederick West, l&ngsr for the St. ivilda. Borough Council, gave evidence to the effect that ho and another witucsft liad watched tho defendant allowitjf* his cattle to grazo oil tho street.—Mr hanlou contended that ihrjf ofoargo of placing the eattlc there hnd been proved.—His Worship dismissed tho ease.
