TRAM TOKENS.
Sir, —I was glad lo 6ee in (his morning's Times another protest from "Token No. 2." I had intended writing yesterday on the srimo subject, but conld not get (lie time. After trying at Mr Jacobs's the tobacconist to get 5s worth of train tokens whicli I had purchased tlioi'o changcd for the now tickets, I was compelled, sorely against, my inclination and my judgment, to go to the car sheds, where I changcd thorn for the new tickets. Since then my wife has turned up a. few tokens whicli I mean to present in tho city trams in payment of tho fare. Surely tho town clerk must know that ho cannot violate the common law and upset n, contract by a publio advertisement in tho newspapers. If he thinks so, or is so advised, let him please consider this is a public advertisement from one who believes tho contrary.—l am, etc., Duncdin, March 6. Token No. 2.
