The following report will be presented at the annual meeting of members of the Zingari Richmond Football Clubi—"ln presenting the twenty-ninth annual report and balancc sheet, your committee lias itho pleasure o recording another successful season, although from a playing point of view there could have been an improvement, especially in the Firs and Second Fifteen records. The club was unfortunate last season through a number ol players having to work on Saturday afternoons, the result being that when the teams went on the field they were occasiona.ll; short of players, consequently the best ol were not obtained. The Third and Fourth Fifteens deserve a word of praise for tlio improvement shown upon last season, their records being considerably ahead of those of the previous season. The Fourth Fifteen especially is to be congratulated on its success, it having the best record in the club for the season. The First Fifteen played 12 matches, won G and lost G; points for, 72; against, GO. The Second Fifteen played 13 matches, losing 11 and drawing 2; pomta ,'or, 22; against, 112. The 'mini Fifteen played 12 matches, winning G and losing 5 and drawing 1; points for, S7; against, 72. The Fourth l'ilteen played 12 matches, of which S were won, 3 lost, and 1 drawn; points for, 120; against, 31!. The Wednesday team playcil 12 matches, winning 7 and losing 5; points for, SO; against, 33. At Easter a team journeyed to St. Bathan's and defeated the local team by 3G points to nil. Your representatives were i(. Abbott, B. Spiers, and A. I{. Low, while B. Spiers had the honour of being included in tile South Island team. The High street gymnasium was again secured for training purposes, but generally speuking very little enthusiasm was shown in this • department of the game. Duriug the season the club lost several prominent members, notably A. E. Austin, A. C. Low, G. Stirling, and C. Stewart, all of -whom have been transferred from Dunedin. Mr Austin was a hard working member for a number of years, and his services will be greatly missed. Tlio following gentlemen kindly donated caps for presentation, Messrs J. "Wallace, \Y. M'Bealh, H. Proctor, E. Dunn, and G-. Smith. I The caps were won by It. Abbott, B. Collie, W. Fletcher, 1?. Mormon, R. M'Donald, and G. Wallsu. The annual social was' again . held in the Choral Hall, and proved a very ; succesfnl function. During the season a , smoke evening was held in the High Street Hall, a large number o): members being present. The club is in a good position financially. Wo wish to thank the press and lieferecs' Association for their assistance given 1 during the season." 1 PIRATES CLUB, j The twenty-fifth annual report is as follows: j " Your cominittee is 'pleased to report that [ the operations of tho past season show a marked improvement on the previous year, j The record of tho club's First and Second > Fifteen'-, though showing an improvement on the previous year, is still far from satisiactory, and wo look to these teams for totter results during Hie coining season. Tho Third ond Fourth Fifteens showed very consistent • form throughout tho season, and had they not been handicapped by tho higher teams continually drawing on their numbers they J would in all probability have finished much I higher up on tho list. In our matches the 1 First Fifteen won 2, lost 9, and drew 1.; the • .Second Fifteen won 3, lost 7, and drew 3; the Third Fifteen won 4 and lost 8; and the Fourth Fifteen won 5 and lost G. A mixed team traveller! to Ashburton during the Faster holidays, and aft-or an even game wero defeated by the local tan by 13 to 5. The , Christchurch match was played, oil the <Hh !. Juno at Ohristchureh. The committee was fortunate in being able to persuade most of , (he senior team to make the trip, with tho j result that our team ivon by H to 3. The j. committee secured the Dunedin Gymnasium fcT training purposes, and it was fairly welt patronised by tlio junior members, but did . not meet with the support it deserved from the senior team. The club was worthily reprc- ' seuted in the Otago representative team by (I. G. Denuiston and 11. J. Wvinks. AV. ' Duncan, H. Sibbald, and If. Vfyinks also played against the Sydney University team during its visit to Dunedin. We are pleased to report that the membership is stilt very satisfactory. We regret, however, the loss of j several flayers, amongst others F. Lomas, S. M. Chirk, and A. de Lautoiir. As will lie , noted by tho balance sliest, wo lave a good _ credit in hand. The thanks of tho club are 1 due to the Referees' Association for its valuable assistance during the past senson, ' and also to 'the press for the interest taken in the game generally. In conclusion, your committee would again urge upon members tlio necessity for energetic and systematic training, [' and trusts that- during tlio coming winter players will pay more attention to this de- ' parlnient ol the game." t —— The Dunedin Clnb will hold a practice at Tahuna Park. ! The Kaikorai Club will hold a practice on Forburv l'ark, starting at 2.30 p.m. In view of tho match with the Tiinarit Star at Easter, a full muster of members and intonding meni- ( hers is requested.
