CITY POLICE COURT.

Monday, February 25. (Before Mr 11. T. Widdowson, S.M.) Drunkenness.—T W o first offenders wore fined 5s each, and a third was fined 10s, with the usual alternatives.—Donald Hatheaon, for drunkenness while in charge of a horse in Princes street, was fined , 20s and 2s coal*, in default seven days' imprisonment-Alexander Corson was fined 5s and 2a costs, in default 2-1 hours' imprisonment.

A Series of Offences.—George Hobcraft was fined 20s, or seven days, for drunkenness j and for resisting Constablo Macartney he wa3 tnoa 40s, or 14 days' imprisonment. Alleged Illegal Dealing in Liquor.—Charges against James O'Driscoll, George Crawford John Fitzgerad, Thos. Brown, and , Thos. Young for alleged illegal dealing in alcoholicliquor were called on, and adjourned till March 25.

Charge of Insulting Language.— George M'Gorion wag ohwged with leaving a vehicle unattended in Maclaggan street on January SO, and also with using insulting language.— Mr James (who appeared for accused) said that his client would plead guilty on the firat charge and not guilty to the second, with respect to which ho would ask for an adjournment.—A fine of 53 and 7s costs was inflicted on the first, charge, and the second was adjourned until Tuesday week.
