The North Dunedin Rifles mustered rfcrongly at the Railway Station last evening to welcome back to Dunedin Sergeant Bradley, ono of their number, who won Lho South Island championship belt at therecent Exhibition riile meeting at Christshurch. Captain Johnston, in welcoming the champion,, said:—" Sergeant Bradley,—We are- mot hero to-night to givo you a welcome- home, and to congratulate you on four success at the recent rifle meeting sit Cliristr.hurch. . Your win was a welldeserved one, as you shot consistently from start to ' finish. Wo are sorry that you sould not go on to Trenthara 1o give thft North Island cracks a tasto of your quality. Wα will, 'however, havo Lieutenant Longivorth and Colour-sergeant Harbour repreienting us there, and if they cannot win ilio championship of tho colony we must iust remain content with the ono championship this year. For over 40 jears the iianio o£ our company has been associated with the names of good shots—men who iiaw held their own at all the huge meetings in the colony,—and I thank you, on jehalf of tlio company, for keeping tha »ood old name of the North Dunedin Rifles io well to the front on this occasion.
