TRADES AND LABOUR COUNCIL.
A meeting of tho Otago Trades and Labour Council was held on Wednesday evening, Mr W. Pattison (president) in tho chair.
Correspondence was rcoeivod from tho Hon. J. A. Millar intimating that if ho could find time ho would bo pleased to accept the invitation of tho Upper Clufcha branches of tho Otago Central Railway Lcagno to pay a visit to tho district.—Tho secretary was instructed to forward a copj of tho letter to Mr G. Ray, secretary of tho ■ league. Tho Secretary of tho Typographical Socicty forwarded a resolution Dassed by tho New Zealand Exocutivo protesting against tho present system of working tho Arbitration Court, and suggesting that a regular circuit bo fixed.—lt was dnoided to endorse tho resolution, and forward a copy to tho Minister of LabQur.
The Town Clerk intimated that all graved ■were dug 6ft deep, which allowed o{ two coffins being put in one grave, which was in acoordanco witli tho Government regulations.
