CHRISTCHURCH, February 22. ' Mr Munro, secretary of the Slaughtermen's Union of Canterbury, had a twohours' interview to-day with tlio directors of tlio Canterbury Meat Company. It is stated that, no strike is contemplated on tlio part of tlio Pelfast workers or oilier local iiion. The Oliristchureh Union does not agree with the action of the men at Parcora in going out on strike, but they desire to raise cort.-jin points that- are not at all connected with the troublo at Pareora. The slaughtermen in the lieighIjourhood of Christchurch 'have decided to hold a special meeting; at tlio Trades liall on Sunday morning for tlio purpose of considering matters in connection with their proposed new agreement with tho Canterbury Meat Company and tho Christchurch Meat Company. are members of the union, tho Parcora* members of which liavo gono out on strike.
