■ BLENHEIM, February 18. A man named Shcehan expired suddenly this afternoon. Ho had boon running (o catch a train and collapsed. Ho was carried into a blacksmith'? shop, where ho died immediately. CHRISTCHURCH, February 18. A little girl namod Lizzie Harks jumped off a Papanui tram this afternoon while it was in motion, and struck one of the polos. Her head was seriously injured, and she died shortly afterwards.

A girl named Ivy Warner, aged 19, was brought to the Christchurch Hospital about 3 o'clock this morning, suffering from a severe wound in the throat, alleged to have linen self-inflicted. The girl had been staying with relatives at Aylesbury, and was found yesterday everting witli her throat badly cut and a' butcher's knife close by. She wasjbrought to the hospital at once. No reason is assigned for the act. Tho girl is at present in a serious condition.

Tho adj.ourned inquest concerning the doath of Cecil P. Gibson, who died at tho hospital on Thursday shortly after his admission, was hold to-dav. The inquest had been adjourned in order that certain organs might, he examined, poison being suspected. To-day mcdical cvidencc was. given that death was due to an internal trouble, and 4 verdict was returned accordingly.

CHRISTCHURCH, February 19. The constable at Coalgate reported today that a young man named Rosevoar had boon drowned in a lake at Lockwood.

The decomposed and unrecognisable body of a man is reported by Constahle O'Grady to have been found in tho plantation at Rakaia this morning. Tho case is apparently one of suicide, as part of the head is missing, and a rifle was found lying by the side of the body. A ; three-year-old. child named Clarice Baxtof was accidentally drowned at Southbridge to-day. WAIMATE, February 18. A lad named Yalk. about nine years old, fell down a will this afternoon and was kijled. Ho was sent for cows, and was missed. On a search being made the body was found in the well with tho windlass and the top of the well, which had fallen in on top of him. Tho body is now in tho morgue awaiting an inquest. Details to hand concerning the drowning of Ernest Saunders, mate of tho tug Sterling, on February 15, in Wairoa River, show that deceased was paying out a' wire ropo to tow the barque Kongsbyrde, and, getting his foot caught, was jerked overboard. Search was made, but no trace could be found of Saunders. He was 28 years of age. and eamo from Newcastle, New South Wales. So far nothing further has been hoard of tho three Austrian gum-diggers who were swept away in tho flood at Great Barrier last week and apnarently drowned. Their names are Pasko Prelenda, Nikolai Cvitanovitcli, and Ivan P. Sin)icli. GISBORNE. February 19. In connection with tho death of Charles Harwood, resulting from injuries at a sawmill at,.Tenraroa, tho verdict at the inquest was that death was accidental, no blame being attachable to anyone, excepting deceased himself for working at the particular saw without the knowledge of his companions, especially after ho had. been cautioned.
