Mr Justice Denmston commented severely upon tho'defence, which made unsustained allegations against the character of the female prosecutrix. A young man named Claude Marmont was found not guilty on a charge of indecently assaulting a littlo girl at Newton, and was disciiareed. WELLINGTON. February 17. Arthur Law, chargcd at the Supremo Court, with having kept an office for betting purposes, was acquitted. February 18. Patrick Francis Brcsnahan, who was charged at the Supremo Court to-day with having attempted to extort money from Ed?av Hyde, was acquittccl. •' The Divorce Court made a. decree nisi in the case of Scoones v.
