DIOCESAN SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS' UNION.

—o> The animal service of the Diocesan Sunday School Teachers' Union was held in the Cathedral last' night, when a. large congregation. ,\vus present, the Hev. H. L. Snovr'giving a most impressive and instinctive address. Alter the service a,u adjpurninont was made to the schoolroom, when tho annual mooting and tho annual presentation of prizes took place. Archdeacon liobinson, in the absence of the Primate, took the chair. After the presentation of prizes the annual report and balance sheet for 190G were read and adopted. On the motion of Mr Bcntkni, seconded by Mr Bray, Mr A. Holderhess was re-elected lion. sec. and treasurer. A hearty vote of thanks to Mr C. H. Stathara, who bo ably officla.ted as exa-miner during the recent examination, was proposed by Mr Benthara, and carried by acclamation. Mr Snow and Mr Hauihlett suggested that in future the annual ■ presentation of. prices bo made more of a festival than'in recent years. A hearty vote of thanks to the chairman, proposed by the llev. On .August 5 a united children's Eervico was held in tho Cathedral. All schools, exoept one, in the town and suburbs, partaking, over 700' children wero present, and the service was bright and hearty. It has been decided to hold a, similar Eervico every year if poasiblo, and the next Ls fixed for March 10. On August G the quarterly meeting took the form of i social, over 100 teachers being present. This wB3 a decided success, ajid a, balance of lH Cd was handed over to the Maori Mission. The annual examination was held in Kovember, mid the thanks of the association aro duo to Mr Statham, who so ably undertook tho arduous duties of examiner. Two hundred and six children entered, of whom 49 obtained, first ciuss, 53 second, 40 pass, and 65 foiled.
