BOXING.
A groat deal of interest is being centred 011 the fort-homing boxing tournaments that have been promoted by the Otsgo Boxing i\ssociatiou. A very at-tractivo programme has been drawn up, a.nd a good desl of speculation ia already being indulged in regarding the rolativo merits of the contestants. On the first' night Tim Hegirty will box Charlie Griffin 15 rounds of three minutes each for a, £100 purse. Both men aro well and favourably known throughout the boxing world. Each has a long string of decisive victories to his credit, and the issue of the contest appears to .be extremely problematical. 'liho " preliminary" for the first night will bo supplied by the two well-known local lieavyv,'eights—V. Hastio and Paddy M'Carthy,— who will box 10 rounds of three minutes each for a purse and a, £10 sidd wager. On Wednesday evening next the public are myitod, free of charge, to an exhibition of training methods by Tim Hegarty, wlio will alto box six rounds with Albert Parker. Several other spars mil bo indulged in by looal men, particulars of which appear in our advertising coinmns.
