The Bavcnsbourno B.G!. held the first, cf their series of races on Saturday, and were favoured with- a good double-reefed N.E. breeze, which was a g*6od test of the capabilities of the different yachts. In the first class race ; AValfiiqnu proved the winner, with two minutes l<> spare. Had the Lennox Lass stinted to time, the finish would have been very close indeed. The li'cx was very unfortunate in not being able to complete the course, owing .to carrying away Jier chain plates. No doubt with her new crew, who' are young and keen, she will do heller in Inttirc races.

11l the second class a very good race was witnessed, especially between The Seeker and May, for first place. Tho former,' after leading most of Ihe way. had to give place to the May on the heat, home. The Neil and Rambler also sailed well, and the former only lost second place on handicap by 15see. Congratulations to Handicapped Holler on the close finish.es he produced. I noticed a number of boat* making for the Heads last week, amongst others being Maiua. Waimann, Annie, Leader, Kambler, and Seeker, and a. fine new launch built by .1. M'Pheison for Mr .1. F. Sullivan. The launch proved very useful in towing yachts home in the calm. The Carina f-cenied to be having a bad'time going down on Saturday, finding the hanks on the way.
