OAMARU, September 10. A sitting of tho Arbitration Court was hejd in Oamiiru to-day.

An application on tho part of tlio Painters' Union of Kmp'.oyecs of Dimcdin far tlio extension of the painters' award to Oamarn occupied a considerable' amount of limn. A conference between the representative!) of tlio union nml the master painters had resulted /in an agreement on a number of points, though objection was offered to the extension of the award. The points still in dispute referred principally to payment for travelling time in Roitipr to and from country''jobs, and to whether or not fiiere was any demand on tho part of the employees here lor the' extension. The evidence disclosed that no union or branch of the union existed here.' The proceedings had been -initiated a considerabjo time ago in Dunedin. Judgment was reserved.

His Honor intimated that a workable clause (or this purpose could be. drafted, and.judgment was reserved.
