NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that » RESOLUTION was PASSED at u Special Meeting of the Taieri County Council, held on tho 3rd day of August. 190(1, Making a By-law relating to Motor Cars, and it is intended to CONFIRM such Resolution so as to constitute it a SPECIAL ORDER at a meeting of tho Council which will be held at the County Offices on FRIDAY, the 7th day of September, 19(H). Tho object and purport of the By-law are as follows:— (1) To prohibit the use of Motor Cars upon the following portions oi' roadsla) That portion of the Allanton-to-Ber-wick road from the Lake bridge at Little Waipori to Crossan's gate, where the road leaves the bank of the Waipori. (b) That portion of the Green Island-to-Taieri Mouth road between Davidson's Hill and Green Island Domain corner. (c) That portion of the same road extending past tho Brighton Clifia from Phillip's house to Big Point. (2) To prevent the driving awl operating of Motor Cars on Toads unless by a person competent thereunto. (3) To provide against Motor Cars on roads being made to travel backwards beyond what it requisite for safety, against being quitted without due precautions taken against their being started in the meantime, and against their being used so as to obstruct or interfere with traffic. (I) To provide for giving warning of the approach of cars, (3) To provide for the stopping of cars to allov persons with restive liovbcs to pas?.
